The Croatian Rural Tourism Association is implementing a project this year "Professional training for the digital promotion of rural tourism in the Republic of Croatia on domestic and foreign markets" with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and the organizational support of tourist boards, local action groups and members of the Association. As part of the project, nine educational field workshops have been organized so far for rural tourism service providers from Central Croatia and 11 workshops for service providers from Slavonia, Baranja and the Danube region. The experiences of the participants are positive and a large number of them have decided to register in the Digital Rural Tourism Catalog. Why?
"At the workshop, I received information about the importance of digital promotion of rural tourism. After the presentation of the web application my-countryside.hr I decided to register in the application so that the data about our facility would be included in the Digital Catalogue of Rural Tourism, which is published on the website of the Croatian National Tourist Board. croatia.hrThe registration itself took about twenty minutes because I prepared all the necessary materials as stated in the user instructions in the brochure. “7 steps to your promotion on the Croatia.hr website”"I believe that registering in the catalog will certainly increase our visibility and attendance because we want to attract as many organized groups as possible who come through travel agencies. They will be able to easily find information about us, as well as other service providers in our region, who register in the application, in the published catalog.", noted Ivan Ožetski, host Moslavina stories from Velika Ludina.
The application, managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, aims to collect data on service providers in order to promote them free of charge and collect information about their business, which will be used in the work of the Working Group for the Development of Rural Tourism, which was recently formed. Due to the inadequate legislative framework, there is currently no central record of rural tourism service providers, which was the reason for the creation of this catalog.
Unofficial estimates suggest that over 1.000 farms from all over Croatia are engaged in this form of tourism. The information collected on the number and types of service providers, their agricultural production, and the hospitality and tourism services they offer on their farms will be used for upcoming legislative changes aimed at defining the Croatian model of rural tourism. In accordance with the protection of personal data, the data is not shared with third parties, except with the Croatian National Tourist Board.
The association calls on all rural tourism service providers to register in the web application as soon as possible. my-countryside.hr and thereby take advantage of the right to free promotion on domestic and foreign markets. Agricultural holdings that have registered wineries, tasting rooms, agrotourisms, excursion sites, rural accommodation facilities and the like are registered in the application. Data can be changed 365 days a year, and the application is a tool that is fully adapted to service providers.
