The Croatian National Tourist Board and the tourist boards of Zadar County and the city of Zadar are the hosts. meetings of the Council of the Polish Chamber of Tourism (PIT).

PIT is the largest Polish organization representing the interests of the Polish tourism industry and is a counterpart to the Croatian Association of Travel Agencies (UHPA). A special residency program was organized on this occasion. 24 Polish tourism professionals and PIT members, as well as representatives of the Polish media, who are staying in Zadar County until October 1st and getting to know its special features and tourist offer.

Croatia has occupied an extremely important place on the Polish tourism market for many years and remains one of the most important holiday destinations for Polish tourists, said Paweł Niewiadomski, President of PIT and Board Member of the European Travel Agency Association ECTAA.

"Poles particularly appreciate Croatia for its unique combination of beautiful nature, the Adriatic Sea, a diverse coastline, a pleasant climate, excellent gastronomy and rich cultural heritage, i.e. for the diversity of its tourist offer. An important advantage of Croatia is its good transport accessibility. It is relatively easy for Polish tourists to arrive by car, while at the same time the network of airlines and tour operator offers is continuously developing. The interests of Polish guests are increasingly expanding beyond the traditional summer holiday on the Adriatic. Poles know Croatia well, they feel comfortable there and have great trust in our country. However, there are still many destinations and tourist products that our market has yet to discover. That is why we see great potential for further development and deepening cooperation between the Polish and Croatian tourism industries.", added Niewiadomski.

As part of the program, Polish representatives of the tourism sector visited some of the most attractive natural and cultural destinations in the region; from the Vrana Lake Nature Park and historic Nin, through the historic core of Zadar, to numerous experiences related to food and wine offerings and tradition, such as tasting local olive oils.

Poland is among the top five most important markets for Croatian tourism, so we are particularly pleased that the representatives of the Polish Chamber of Tourism chose our country as the host of the PIT Council session, she emphasized. Małgorzata Kowalska, Director of the CNTB Representative Office in Poland.

"Poles highly value natural beauty, a sense of security and ecological preservation of the area, they most often stay in private accommodation, although their interest in hotels and campsites is growing. Zadar is extremely popular among Polish guests, in 2025 it achieved the highest number of arrivals of Polish tourists among all Croatian destinations. Its accessibility is further facilitated by high-quality direct air connections. Such meetings are particularly valuable for us because they allow representatives of the tourism sector to experience the destination first-hand and recognize its potential beyond the framework of a classic summer vacation.", she added Kowalska.

In the first eight months of this year, around 1,1 million arrivals and 6,3 million overnight stays by Poles were recorded in Croatia, which represents a 1% increase in arrivals compared to the same period last year, while overnight stays are at the level of last year's results.

That Poland is an extremely important market, both for Croatia and for the Zadar region, was also confirmed by Vanja Čvrljak, director of the Zadar County Tourist Board, and Iva Bencun, director of the Zadar Tourist Board, highlighting the long-standing successful ties and cooperation in the field of tourism. Cricket emphasized that Polish guests are among the three most important export markets of the county, while Benzun highlighted Zadar's special connection with Polish visitors and the potential for further strengthening tourism relations.
