Vanja Čvrljak - new director of the Zadar County Tourist Board

The Tourist Board of the Zadar County Tourist Board, at today's meeting, elected Vanja Čvrljak as the director of the Zadar County Tourist Board. The Commission, appointed by the Tourist Board, conducted the procedure for the election of the director of the Zadar County Tourist Board and unanimously proposed Vanja Čvrljak to the Tourist Board as the best candidate, after which the Tourist Board unanimously adopted a decision Appoints Vanja Čvrljak as director for a term of four years.

The session of the Tourist Council was chaired by the Prefect of Zadar County and President of the Zadar County Tourist Board Josip Bilaver who thanked the previous director for his cooperation.

The newly elected director, Vanja Čvrljak, was born in 1978 and graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management in Opatija in 2004, and further trained in London. In addition to many years of work in the hotel sector, partly abroad, he gained extensive work experience in the tourist board system, first as director of the Benkovac Tourist Board, and then as director of the largest tourist board in the Republic of Croatia - the Ravni Kotari Tourist Board. Vanja Čvrljak, in addition to his excellent English, is also fluent in Italian and German.

The competition for the selection of the director of the Zadar County Tourist Board was announced on March 19, and the deadline for applications expired on April 2, 2026. Two applications were received for the competition, which were reviewed by the Committee for the Collection and Analysis of Applications for the Competition for the Director of the Zadar County Tourist Board, and an interview was conducted with the candidate who took the test.

"I thank the Tourist Council for the trust they have shown me and I look forward to new challenges and the opportunity to make Zadar County a recognizable tourist region of year-round tourism with a special emphasis on ecological, economic and social sustainability. I think we have all the prerequisites for that and I am confident that we will succeed on that path," the new director said Vanja Čvrljak.
