UN Tourism launches digital course on hospitality via WhatsApp

UN Tourism is innovating in sector education by launching the first WhatsApp-based courses.

Free digital course about hospitality through this application should improve business skills, customer service and sustainability skills in the global tourism sector.

Digital a course via WhatsApp is a training initiative designed for professionals, entrepreneurs and SMEs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

This pioneering program, first introduced in Spain, which is being implemented entirely through WhatsApp, marks a significant step forward in digital education.

The course aims to build practical skills in business management, customer service and promotion of hospitality and tourism businesses. The program, which is being implemented in partnership with Mahou San Miguel Foundation, draws on the organization's extensive expertise in the Spanish HORECA sector.

Applications are open from the beginning 2000 seats available to residents of Spain, fully subsidized to expand access to training across the sector.

Accessible, customized and innovative format

The course offers a flexible and familiar learning experience, especially suited to those with limited time or those who prefer formats that are primarily geared towards mobile devices.

Participants who complete all modules will receive a joint certificate from UN Tourism and Fundación Mahou San Miguel.

The program is structured around short lessons covering day-to-day management, digital marketing, customer loyalty, sustainability, with hands-on approaches to local products and experiences.

Designed for hospitality professionals, employees and entrepreneurs, the course improves management practices and customer service, while encouraging innovation and the integration of sustainable practices, strengthening the visibility of local products and experiences across the sector.
