Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board is entering a new cycle of promotional and marketing activities, and among the first announced projects are a new visual identity of the destination, a redesign of the website, a new photographic production, a promotional film with an American adventurer and television author Hazen Audel and a series of quizzes across the county in which he will be involved Dean Kotiga.
The new activities were presented at a press conference in the County Prefect's Office, where Šibenik-Knin County Prefect Paško Rakić also introduced the new director of the Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board. Nikola Barak, who took office on September 1st.
Rakić emphasized that the County had an exceptional cooperation with the previous director Krešimir Šakić, while he expects the new director to continue development and make new strides. According to the program presented by Baraka, he believes that a new era is beginning for tourism in the Šibenik-Knin County. He emphasized that much has already been done during the previous period, but that now we need to move towards more concrete strides, especially in stronger connections between the coastal and continental parts of the county.
The goal, according to Rakić, is to strengthen and partially redirect tourism activities and build a positive story about the entire county, with a stronger connection between the touristically developed coastal area and the hinterland, which is developing but still needs additional stimulation. The prefect also invited interested citizens to get involved in creating the future tourism development of the Šibenik-Knin County.
New destination identity and promotional film
One of the first projects of new director Nikola Baraka will be the creation of new visual identity Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board. The plan includes a new logo, a new photo series and a website redesign.
Baraka stated that, although he had only been in office for four days at the time of his presentation, he had started working on new projects even before officially taking office. He added that the existing Tourist Board team, which he described as a group of enthusiasts, is also participating in their implementation.
Among the first concrete projects will be new video production in collaboration with American adventurer and television author Hazen Audel. Over the course of approximately two weeks, the main promotional film and several separate stories are planned to be filmed, presenting different parts of the Šibenik-Knin County, local people, gastronomy and customs.
One of the stories will be filmed in Tribunj, where Audel will follow local fishermen and the entire product journey “from catch to table.” The Tourist Board's goal is to present the main promotional film to the public in November so that the new campaign can be launched before the start of the next tourist season.
The new production is conceived as part of a broader promotional cycle aimed at creating a more contemporary and recognizable visual identity for the destination. The communication will encompass cultural and historical heritage, gastronomy, natural attractions and local lifestyle.
In addition to the main promotional film, the production of several shorter thematic films dedicated to individual locations, experiences and tourist attractions in the county is also planned.
Hazen Audel, who has already collaborated with Barak on the production of promotional films about Slavonia and Dalmatia, emphasized that he considers Croatia to be a particularly beautiful part of the world, rich in natural and cultural values. He also emphasized the feeling of safety during his stay in Croatia, the hospitality and friendliness of the people, and his interest in the attitude of the local population towards nature, gastronomy, history, and heritage.
Dean Kotiga involved in the promotion of gastronomy
Along with a new visual identity and video production, the Tourist Board has also announced a series of quizzes that should be held throughout the year at various locations throughout the Šibenik-Knin County.
The project will include television quiz show host Dean Kotiga, who has also been introduced as the new promoter of gastronomy in the Šibenik-Knin County.
According to Kotiga, a series of quizzes are planned throughout the year, in larger towns and cities in the county, while the grand finale is scheduled to take place in Šibenik. The first quiz is scheduled for September 27, on the eve of Šibenik City Day.
The announced projects thus simultaneously encompass a change in the visual identity of the destination, new digital and video communication, and field activities, with a special emphasis on connecting the coastal part of Šibenik-Knin County with the hinterland and a stronger presentation of local people, gastronomy, customs, and experiences.
