The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced a public tender for associations to co-finance tourism projects aimed at ensuring sufficient, qualified and competent staff and raising awareness of the need to develop sustainable tourism. Projects can be submitted by professional associations in tourism and/or hospitality, and a total of 770.000 euros has been secured.
"The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has been implementing this competition for many years, through which we support projects that contribute to the achievement of our strategic goals, from the development of sustainable tourism to ensuring quality staff for work in tourism and hospitality. Since 2016, we have co-financed 178 projects to strengthen professional associations in a total amount of more than 3,4 million euros. This year, I invite all associations that have quality projects to apply for this competition, which is another way in which we encourage sustainable, year-round and resilient tourism.", said the minister Tonči Glavina.
An applicant to the Public Tender may submit only one project, and the amount of funds requested may range from EUR 15.000 to EUR 200.000 per individual project, and may request a maximum of 70 percent of the project value. The duration of the project implementation period must be a minimum of 14 months and a maximum of 24 months.
Preference in co-financing will be given to applicants who employ at least one young unemployed person with a suitable profession and/or volunteer experience in a certain area (up to 30 years old), for the preparation and implementation of the project, at least one unemployed person with a disability of a suitable profession and/or volunteer experience in a certain area, who have one or more partners in the implementation of the project, who have two or more regional tourism boards as associated partners, who have associated partners on the project, whose associated partner is an association whose field of activity is thematically related to the project or goals Tenders are also open to those who provide more of their own and/or other sources of funds for the implementation of project activities than a minimum of thirty percent of the project's value.
