Tourism in Spain this year could generate as much as 88% of the revenue generated in pre-pandemic 2019. This is the result of research and forecasts by the tourism industry association Exceltur. The forecast comes as preparations are underway for the international tourism fair Fitur, which will be held in Madrid from January 19 to 23. Before the coronavirus pandemic, Spain was the second most visited tourist destination in the world.
