The quality of the tourist offer is becoming a key factor in choosing a destination, and guests are increasingly demanding a high level of quality for the entire destination, all stakeholders and attractions. It is precisely in order to raise the bar for destination quality, Šibenik Tourist Board begins with  with the IQM Destination project.

IQM Destination integrated quality management) is a destination quality management project by Đurđica Šimičić and Anamarija Cicarelli that has improved the operations of the tourism sector in Croatia through a series of education programs for tourism workers, quality measurements, setting service and offer standards, and strengthening the destination brand.

"One of our main goals is responsible, sustainable and quality tourism that promotes the fundamental values ​​of Šibenik as a destination. To achieve this, we will be greatly helped by cooperation with the established company Feel IQM in the area, with which we are starting this project of integral quality management in the destination with the creation of quality standards and synergistic connection of all important stakeholders in our tourist offer." said Dino Karađole, director of the Šibenik Tourist Board office.

The activities that the IQM Destination project team brings to Šibenik are designed to economically strengthen the entire community, strengthen cooperation, synergy in the destination and encourage excellence. Some of these activities include a presentation of the project to residents, a public call for participation in the IQM Destination Šibenik project, measuring the initial state of quality in the destination, measuring indicators of destination standards according to the guidelines of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and measuring residents' satisfaction with tourism in the destination. These initial analyses are followed by the definition of the IQM Destination Šibenik standards, conducting audits and individual consultations, training on the implementation of the IQM Destination standards, consultations, and annual performance measurement.

Potential partners in implementing the IQM Destination project for the Tourist Board of the City of Šibenik, which is the project leader, are public city institutions, the private and public sector - hoteliers, campsites, private accommodation, attractions, catering facilities, local producers, travel agencies, souvenir shops and others.

Šibenik Tourist Board will soon announce Public invitation to all interested parties who contribute to the development and quality of the tourist offer with their work, to apply to participate in the project. The implementation of this project emphasizes innovation, creativity and connectivity that binds private and public partnerships in the destination and the environment, with all partners who influence the quality of tourism. The concept of the IQM Destination project is adapted to the needs of guests, but also residents, trends in tourism, and responsible and sustainable management of the destination.

In October 2020, the IQM Destination concept was accepted as one of the best examples in practice by the UNWTO, the World Tourism Organization, which resulted in the company Feel IQM being accepted as an associate member of the UNWTO.
