The Tourist Board of the Buzet and Ćićarija area was founded

The founding session of the Assembly of the Tourist Board of the Buzet and Ćićarija area was held on April 23rd in the premises of the City Administration in Buzet. The newly established Tourist Board covers the areas City of Buzet and Municipality of Lanišće.

This move represents a step towards joint management of the destination. However, the question remains how to reconcile tourism development with the preservation of the authentic and sensitive nature of northern Istria.

The session was chaired by the Mayor of Buzet. Damir Kajin, who will also serve as the president of the Association for the first three years, while after that period the function will be taken over by the mayor of the Lanišće Municipality. Roberta MedicaAfter obtaining the consent of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Statute of the Tourist Board was adopted at the session, the mandates of the Assembly members were confirmed, the Rules of Procedure were adopted, and the Tourist Council was elected.

He was appointed as a representative in the Assembly of the Tourist Board of the Istria County. Nevio LadavacRepresentatives of the tourism and economic sectors from the Buzet and Lanišće areas were confirmed for a four-year term in the Assembly, while representatives who will operationally manage the work of the Association were elected to the Tourist Council.

During the discussion, the importance was highlighted preserving the authenticity of the space as the basis for further development of tourism in this area. Special potential has been recognized in the development of sports, religious and health tourism. It has also been warned about challenges such as the overcrowding of the Seven Waterfalls Trail, wild camping, and unauthorized driving on forest roads that negatively impact the natural environment.

The relaunch of the establishment initiative was also announced Ćićarija Regional Park.
