"Photo Zagreb County" exhibition opens: The best shots from Zagreb County awarded

Wooden churches at sunset, lakes, rural scenes, Medvednica on the horizon and moments of everyday life are just some of the motifs presented at the exhibition "Photo Zagreb County", opened in the premises of the Zagreb County Tourist Board in Zagreb.

The opening of the exhibition also marked the award ceremony for the authors of the fifth edition of the photography competition, which brings together amateur and professional photographers year after year with the aim of capturing the spaces, motifs and experiences of Zagreb County.

The awarded photographs bring different perspectives on the county: from natural landscapes and cultural and historical heritage to tradition, rural motifs, eno-gastro experiences and active spending time in nature. It is precisely this breadth of motifs that shows how much Zagreb County can be read through the details, the atmosphere of the place and the scenes that the authors record from their own perspective.

According to the expert committee's assessment, first place was won by Dominik Papić, whose two photographs achieved the same, highest number of points. His works depict rural areas, nature and everyday life, with an emphasis on motifs that clearly point to the green heart of continental Croatia - Zagreb County.

Second place went to Ivan Mihael Pavlović. a photograph of a sunset over Medvednica, with the recognizable silhouette of Sljeme and the tower on the horizon. Third place went to Davor Vidak for a photo of fishermen on Lake Rakitje, which shows the stay in nature and the recreational value of the area.

In addition to the awards based on the evaluation of the expert committee, awards were also awarded based on audience votes on social networks. Kristina Majdak won first place in terms of the number of likes on Facebook. a photograph of a traditional wooden church at sunset. Renato Glogovčan won first place in terms of the number of likes on Instagram with a photo of swimming in Lake Novo Čiče during sunset.

Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board Ivana Alilović She congratulated the award-winning authors and emphasized the importance of such visual materials in presenting the destination.

"The photographs we present today have great value because they depict Zagreb County through real scenes and the personal views of the authors. They feature places we know, but also moments that we might not have noticed without someone's careful eye. We also paid special attention to creating a value chain, so our laureates will use their awards with local service providers in wineries, hotels and restaurants in Zagreb County. I congratulate all the awardees and thank all participants for their great interest in the competition.", she stated Ivana Alilović, director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

The best photographs, as judged by an expert committee, were decided by Bozo Skoko, communications expert and professor, Mihaela Huzanic, representative of Hanza Media, Mario Zilec, representative of Chronicle of Velika Gorica, Ana Gasparovic, director of the Ivanić-Grad Tourist Board, and Josip Škof, professional photographer.

The exhibition of awarded photographs is open to the public at the premises of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, at Preradovićeva 42 in Zagreb. Through the exhibited works, visitors can see Zagreb County from the perspective of the authors who recorded its landscapes, heritage, local motifs and everyday scenes.
