The Ministry of Tourism and Sports in cooperation with the Central State Office for Demography and Youth, for the school year 2023/2024, announced and conducted a public call encouraging education in the hospitality and tourism industry through "Scholarships" in cooperation with employers, for which €747.720 has been provided.
50 employers applied for the Public Call. Interest has been expressed for a total of 292 scholarship holders, of which 271 are students and 21 are students with whom tripartite contracts will be signed.
The program has been implemented since 2008, and in the past six years, the Ministry has signed 1.586 tripartite agreements for this purpose, for which more than two million euros have been allocated. The funds are intended to co-finance scholarships for end users, pupils and students. The total amount of the scholarship is €266 per pupil or student per month, of which the Ministry provides €186 and the employer €80.
The largest number of scholarship recipients, 71, will be at Plitvice Lakes National Park, for which a little over 13 thousand euros will be allocated from the budget. This is followed by Valamar Riviera with 65 scholarship recipients and 12 thousand euros, Imperial Riviera with 23, and AMINESS with 20 scholarship recipients and a total of eight thousand euros.
