Croatian tourist agency she announced today public tenders for award of funds for projects of regional tourist boards in tourism-insufficiently developed areas and the continent in 2024. iz Fund for underdeveloped tourist areas and the continent and for projects of associated tourist communities iz Fund for Associated Tourist Communities based on the Decision of the Tourist Council of the Croatian Tourist Board of December 13, 2023. Public tenders are open until January 31, 2024
"The public tenders detail the acceptable activities of regional tourist boards in an area and continent that is underdeveloped in terms of tourism, as well as the activities of associated tourist boards, as well as all other important elements of these public tenders. I would like to remind you that these are Funds that collect funds from paid tourist fees and membership fees, and when we talk about association, tourist boards have formal or project-based, or consensual association at their disposal."", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, adding that the merger ensures more efficient and visible promotion of destinations, as well as better management of the development and promotion of tourist products.
Public tenders for the allocation of funds for local tourist board projects in underdeveloped tourist areas and continents in 2024 will be announced by regional tourist boards, each for its own area, and the deadline for announcing public tenders is March 31, 2024.
Eligible activities for which funds will be allocated to tourism communities in touristic underdeveloped areas and the continent and associated tourism communities from these funds include projects research and strategic planning, tourism product development projects, communication and advertising projects, destination management projects and projects that are realized with funds from EU funds.
In 2023, for projects of regional and local tourist boards on an underdeveloped tourist area and continent it was approved slightly less than 5,8 million euros, while for projects of associated tourist communities granted about 2,6 million euros.
That's it Projects for the development of strategic and action documents for the development and promotion of sustainable tourism, projects for the development and promotion of rural tourism, active and adventure tourism, eno gastronomy, cultural tourism, cycle tourism, as well as projects for the production of promotional materials and destination advertising on the foreign and domestic market in online and offline communication channels were implemented.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, projects were also implemented to improve the quality management system in the destination, which entails the development, standardization and marking of the destination's comparative advantages, educational activities for stakeholders participating in tourism activities, the development of thematic trails (religious tourism - pilgrimage routes), and projects for the creation of conceptual solutions, studies, etc. for the purposes of applying for projects financed from EU funds, according to HTZ.
