The longest-running Croatian beer festival celebrates two significant anniversaries this year: 40 years of existence and 170 years of Karlovački pivo. 

This year, the Karlovac Beer Days will once again convince lovers of good music, beer and food that summer in continental Croatia can be very interesting.

Five days of great fun and a great atmosphere await you at one more Beer days which will take place from August 30 to September 3. During this period, in the city on four rivers, along with the Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica and Dobra, the focus will also be on the fifth river – the river of beer.

Karlovac then becomes an unavoidable domestic continental destination, as the Beer Days are visited by tens of thousands of visitors over five days. As a special addition to this year's festival, there will also be a presentation of the book "The Fifth River of Karlovac", by Krešimir Perušić, which tells the rich history of Karlovac beer.

The largest and longest-running Croatian beer festival is celebrating two years this year. significant anniversaries 40 years of the festival i 170 years of Karlovac beer. That's how long it's been since Baron Nikola Vranyczany built the brewery building in Dubovac in 1854. The first Karlovac Beer Days were held 40 years ago, exactly on the 130th anniversary of the Brewery. 

"I invite everyone to the Beer Days, come and discover the beauties of Karlovac's parks and rivers, refresh yourself at Fogin's swimming pool, visit the Old Town of Dubovac, Aquatica - the only freshwater aquarium in Croatia, the Museum of the Homeland War and the Nikola Tesla experience center."  said Damir Mandić, Mayor of Karlovac. 

An interesting narrative from the City of Karlovac, which, along with the announcement of Beer Days, invites festival guests to visit and experience Karlovac outside the context of Beer Days itself, putting other attractions of Karlovac in focus. Certainly commendable and a good example of communication.

Some of the biggest names on the Croatian music scene will provide a great atmosphere, and admission to all concerts - as many as 20 on the main and Gastro stages - is free for visitors. 

And while in 1984 visitors enjoyed performances by the greats Zvonko Bogdan, Kića Slabinac and numerous others, this year the main stage will feature: Tony Cetinski, Miach, Vojko V, Kawasaki 3P, Baby Lasagna, Prljavo kazalište, Neno Belan & Fiumens, Romani Ite Doma, Alen Vitasović, Luka Nižetić, Peki i Baks, EoT and Željko Bebek. Good entertainment with DJs, Leteći odred and other bands will also be offered on the stage in the Gastro corner. Check the exact schedule by day at program on official websites Beer days Karlovac. Gastronomy and beer offer

In the Gastro corner, visitors can enjoy a variety of savory and sweet dishes under a tent with 400 seats and Karlovac World of Beer with 17 types of beer: Mort Subite, cherry-flavored beer, Cruzcampo Gran Reserva malt lager, Birra Moretti light refreshing lager, Piran Bay salt-infused beer Laško Burin, Red Stripe light lager and many others. There are also well-known classics – Karlovačko, Heineken, Lagunitas IPA, Sol and Stari lisac. In addition to burgers, tacos, buns, pancakes, fritters and craft beers, the Podrum and Medvedgrad breweries will offer festival flavors on Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade.

The City of Karlovac and Karlovačko pivo are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, with a special emphasis on responsible alcohol consumption. To this end, a number of activities are being carried out, such as the distribution of "I am 18+" adults and an educational workshop conducted in cooperation with the Karlovac Police Department. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out a motorcycle driving simulator and safety helmet, "drunk goggles" and a "Dräger" device for measuring blood alcohol levels. 

Special train line from Zagreb for Beer Days

As in previous years, the City of Karlovac and Karlovačko pivo have ensured easy and safe arrival at the Beer Days. From August 30th to September 1st, a train will be available departing from Zagreb's Main Station. at 17:55 and runs to Karlovac Centar station, with stops in Remetinec, Hrvatski Leskovac and Jastrebarsko.

The return to Zagreb is planned after midnight, at 00:14, and the ticket price is a symbolic 1,5 euros. Free bus transportation to the festival will also be organized from ŠRC Korana - to the bus stop on Korzo and from Korzo to ŠRC Korana. Departures will be every hour starting at 18:00. For those who still decide to go to Karlovac by car, free parking is provided at ŠRC Korana and in Vatrogasna Street.
