National restaurant Lička kuća solemnly marked its 50th anniversary of existence and work

The Lika House restaurant, one of the symbols of the Plitvice Lakes National Park and the Lika tradition, celebrated its 50th anniversary of existence and operation with a ceremony on July 4, 2022.

Built in 1972 and decorated as a version of an ethno museum, the Lička kuća restaurant, with its ambiance and gastronomic offer based on locally sourced ingredients, many of which are protected by the Lika Quality regional quality system, as products produced in the ecological oasis of the Lika destination and with proven traceability from family farm to table, authentically revives the rich traditions of the Lika region.

Just walking through the restaurant takes you to another world, the soothing warmth of a former Lika house, while the smells and flavors take you back to childhood and the kitchen of our grandmothers, where the food was handmade from locally grown ingredients.

On the occasion of this significant anniversary, the director of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Tomislav Kovačević, thanked the restaurant staff for their dedicated work and exceptional contribution woven into the top quality of the restaurant, emphasizing that the National Park and the Lika House are the leaders of the gastronomic story of the Lika destination and as such have the privilege of helping the entire region by placing locally produced foods on the tables of guests. Director Kovačević noted that despite the numerous transformations it has undergone during its existence, the restaurant has fundamentally been and remains a center of local gastronomic delicacies.
