Finally, an injustice and a great absurdity have been corrected, and a part of our identity and tradition has been restored. As reported by the Island Parliament, small-scale traditional fishing has been declared an intangible cultural asset, and the inhabitants of the islands and coastal areas can once again engage in fishing as they have done for centuries. This was decided yesterday at the 113th session of the Expert Committee for Determining the Characteristics of Cultural Assets.
