Today, contracts for tourist board projects financed from the Fund for underdeveloped tourist areas and the continent in 2026, which were taken over by directors and representatives of regional tourist boards.
The final decisions on the selected projects and approved amounts were made by Tourist Board of the Croatian Tourist Board. It's about 274 projects of regional and local tourist boards for which an amount of almost 8,6 million euros.
"These investments are an important part of our policy of more balanced development of Croatian tourism because through them we are further strengthening continental and less developed tourist areas of Croatia and creating the prerequisites for higher quality, more sustainable and year-round tourism. These are investments that contribute to a higher quality tourist offer, better promotion of destinations, development of new content and more efficient management of destinations, thereby further strengthening the competitiveness of Croatian tourism. It is particularly important to emphasize the continuity of investments because since 2021, more than 51,6 million euros have been secured through these funds for the development of Croatian destinations, which confirms that the Government is systematically investing in a more balanced development of tourism and strengthening continental and less developed tourist areas."", said the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina.
When projects are viewed separately regional tourist boards, they were chosen 45 with the approved amount of 4,3 million euros, and the same amount was approved for 229 local tourism community projects.
"With these investments, we continue to systematically strengthen the tourism development of continental and less developed tourist areas of Croatia, with the aim of creating high-quality, sustainable and authentic tourist products throughout the year. The approved projects will contribute to better visibility of destinations, development of infrastructure and content, and additional increase in the competitiveness of Croatian tourism. The great interest of tourist boards confirms how motivated local communities are for the development of sustainable and year-round tourism., said the director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.
