The Second International Symposium on Olive Oils of Croatia and the Adriatic Coast will be held from September 25-27, 2026. in Postire on the island of Brač.

This prestigious event, organized by the Postira Municipality Tourist Board and Olive Oil Times, brings together world experts, leading olive growers, and international judges.

The symposium provides an opportunity for education, expert workshops, guided tastings, discussion of global trends in olive growing, and highlighting the superior quality of Adriatic extra virgin oils.

Two days full of events

Olive oil producers, tourism officials, hospitality professionals and international experts will gather this September on the island of Brač for the second symposium "Olive oils from Croatia and the Adriatic coast", a two-day event exploring the growing role of high-quality olive oil in regional tourism and economic development.

The event is scheduled for September 26th and 27th in Postira, and will explore how the international recognition that producers from Croatia and neighboring Adriatic countries have gained can result in stronger tourism experiences, more recognizable hospitality offerings, and clearer destination branding.

Despite the recognition that olives and olive oils from Croatia and neighboring Adriatic countries have gained worldwide in recent years, organizers say that many of the millions of visitors who travel to the region each year leave without discovering the quality, diversity, or cultural importance of the oils produced there.

The event is organized with the support of Olive Oil Times, Tourist Board of Postira and regional institutions and will include presentations, discussions and networking sessions covering olive oil quality, gastronomy and sustainable tourism development.

The appeal of authenticity in travel

Director of the Postira Tourist Board, Ivana Jelincic, stated that the return of the Olive Oil Times magazine to Postire reflects both the growing international reputation of the city and the growing appeal of authenticity in travel.

"For a small Mediterranean community, this is an extraordinary recognition - proof that quality and tradition can attract global attention and respect. It also creates real opportunities for knowledge exchange, international cooperation and the promotion of authentic Dalmatian culture.", advertising is Jelinčić.

The program will include discussions on olive oil tourism strategies, regional cooperation and consumer education, with sessions designed to help producers and tourism operators build practical partnerships.

Croatia has stood out in recent years as one of the most awarded countries in international olive oil quality competitions, consistently winning high rankings at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition and gaining recognition among consumers and culinary experts around the world.

New opportunities

The symposium will also consider how this reputation can support rural economies, extend the tourist season and open up new opportunities for producers across the Adriatic basin.

"Croatia and the Adriatic region produce some of the most award-winning olive oils in the world, yet many visitors leave without ever discovering them. This symposium is dedicated to exploring how producers, chefs, hoteliers and tourism leaders can collaborate to create experiences that connect travelers more directly to the region's olive oil culture and identity.", he says Curtis Cord.

The event will take place at the Grand Hotel View in Postira, a coastal town known for its olive groves, stone architecture and relaxed Mediterranean rhythm - a setting chosen by the organizers to reflect the connection between olive growing, gastronomy and the Adriatic way of life.

Entry Form for the event are open on web pages Olive Oil Times Education Lab.
