The 7th session of the Tourist Council of the Croatian Tourist Board was held today at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

At the session, the members of the council, among other things, adopted the decision on the announcement Competitions for the selection and appointment of directors of HTZ representative offices in six markets. Namely, since the directors in the markets Austria, Czech Republic, China, Hungary, Slovenia and Sweden As the mandates expire at the end of June this year, the council has decided to announce a competition that will be announced within seven days of the date of this decision.

"Despite the fact that the geopolitical situation has brought uncertainty to the tourism sector and modified the original plans for the tourist year 2022, we continue to work intensively on adapting activities that will maintain the status of a responsible and desirable tourist destination. In addition to the message of destination responsibility and booking flexibility, we are also sending a message of ecological, economic and social sustainability to our emission markets. The decisions made at today's session of the Tourist Council will allow us to respond adequately to the challenges that tourism faces, but also to maintain the position of one of the most successful destinations in the Mediterranean", she announced Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.

"In addition to the pandemic, which has had a strong impact on the travel sector in the last two years, the situation in Ukraine is now also having an impact on overall trends. As a negative consequence, the Croatian tourism sector is currently only noticing a trend of slowing down reservations, but there are no major cancellations, nor a decline in general interest in travel. Our goal is to maintain market visibility and quality relationships with partners, i.e. we want to position our country as a safe and well-prepared destination that attracts its guests with an attractive and quality offer. Today's decisions of the Tourist Council are aimed at achieving the above goals." he said Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.

Announcement of a call for cooperation with TOP event organizers and top Croatian athletes coming soon

Council members also adopted decisions on the announcement of Calls for expressions of interest for implementing marketing cooperation with TOP event organizers in 2022, respectively Calls for expressions of interest for the implementation of marketing cooperation with  top Croatian athletes in 2022.

The aim of the cooperation with the organizers of TOP events is to raise awareness of Croatia as an attractive year-round tourist destination with a diverse tourist offer, which will also have a positive impact on increasing tourist traffic and general spending. Additional visibility of the national tourist brand will be ensured through cooperation with active top Croatian athletes through the implementation of various promotional activities on communication and advertising channels. 

Funds will also be allocated from Fund for underdeveloped tourist areas and the continent via announcement Public tender for the allocation of funds for regional tourist community projects in underdeveloped tourist areas and continents, which, according to the decision of the Tourist Council, will be published on the website of the Croatian Tourist Board by March 31, 2022. 

By decision of the Tourist Council of the Croatian National Tourist Board, the following were selected: media rental agencies in foreign markets in 2022, as well as agency for creating and implementing a PR strategy and conducting international PR activities in the field of media relations, social media and online communication.

Thus, an agency was selected for media leasing on the markets of Austria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Sweden Aviareps, the agency selected for the markets of Germany, Italy and Poland Pro Media Group, while an agency was selected for the markets of Great Britain and France RML Studio. An agency was selected to implement PR activities in ten markets Aviareps for media relations, while the agency MMGY Hills Balfour selected for social media and digital communication in thirteen broadcasting markets. 

The CNTB added that the session also accepted joint promotional activities that will be carried out in cooperation with ADAC group in the German market, which include popular magazines, portals and online channels, such as Motorwelt magazine, Motorwelt Regionalausgabe, Urlaub Magazine, Pincamp.de, ADAC central - Radio Arabela and others.
