"It was with great pleasure that we accepted the organization of a study trip for Buy Croatia agents and workshops for the Chinese market, because Istria has all the predispositions for a quality reception of Chinese guests. This will be especially important in the coming years, because TZ Istria has entered into a partnership with Lufthansa so that Pula Airport will have a very good connection with Frankfurt and Munich as important hubs for connecting with the Far East.", emphasized the director of the Istrian Tourist Board Denis Ivosevic.
The travel program included inspections premium accommodation capacities, introduction to local experiences and historical heritage, and the rich gastronomic offer of Istria, including wine tours, tasting of local specialties and truffle hunting experiences. Thus, the Chinese agents were presented with a comprehensive destination experience tailored to the demands of guests with higher purchasing power, with an emphasis on personalized, authentic and content-rich products that correspond to contemporary trends in the Chinese market.
Workshop Buy Croatia was held in Novigrad. It gathered 35 Croatian business entities from various segments of the tourism offer - hotels, private accommodation, transport, travel agencies and providers of specialized content. The response from Croatian business entities was exceptionally good, which confirms the strong interest of the domestic tourism sector in developing business cooperation with the Chinese market.
After completing the B2B workshop, Franka Gulin, director of the HTZ Representative Office in China, held an educational lecture for Croatian business subjects on the specifics of the Chinese market, current trends in demand and expectations of Chinese guests in premium segment.
"Such programs and meetings are extremely important for further strengthening cooperation with the Chinese market, especially in the premium segment, which is recording a continuous growth of interest in Croatia. We are extremely satisfied with the response of Croatian business entities, and we believe that the workshop was a useful and concrete tool for better understanding the market and establishing quality business relationships. Now it is up to our partners to further position Croatia on the Chinese market through their unique, authentic and customized products, while the Croatian National Tourist Board remains a strong support in promotion, networking and further development of cooperation. Our common goal is to attract quality guests with greater purchasing power and encourage longer stays in Croatia, especially in the context of Chinese tourists traveling through several countries in the region.", the director said Franka Gulin, adding that Chinese guests spent more than 369 thousand overnight stays in Croatia in 2025, which represents a growth of 1% compared to 2024.
