The project was presented yesterday on the campus of the University of Dubrovnik Camino Dubrovnik - a new pilgrimage and cultural-tourist route connecting Dubrovnik and Medjugorje and brings a unique experience of spiritual, natural and cultural journey.
Camino Dubrovnik The path is about 100 meters long. 145 kilometers and is divided into seven shares, adapted to all hiking enthusiasts of different fitness levels and experience.
The starting point of the route is the church of St. Jakov in Dubrovnik, and the final church of St. Jakov in Medjugorje. The route is designed as a seven-day walk - three and a half days through Croatia and three and a half days through Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Pilgrims will pass through areas Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Littoral, Ravno, Neum, Čapljina and Čitluk, enjoying diverse landscapes from the Mediterranean coast to the mountainous parts of Herzegovina. The path is marked with recognizable Camino signage that allows for safe and easy navigation in the terrain.
Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik Mato Franković He expressed his satisfaction with the beginning of the Camino, which, in addition to its religious and spiritual dimension, will also connect Dubrovnik and Međugorje, two tourist destinations, while dispersing tourists to rural areas and thus encouraging their progress and valorizing the natural heritage of these areas.
