Marijana Kalčić is the new director of the Kvarner Tourist Board

At today's session of the Tourist Council of the Tourist Board of Kvarner, by unanimous decision, for the director Kvarner Tourist Board she was elected during the mandate period Marijana Kalcic, former director Tourist boards of the Matulji municipality.

Marijana Kalčić has been working in tourism for many years, and has led the Matulji Municipality Tourist Board since the office was founded in 2005. In her previous work, she has focused on developing and promoting the destination, organizing and strengthening events, and developing the tourist offer through tradition, culture, and active tourism.

She holds a Master's degree in Economics with a completed graduate and undergraduate degree in business economics in tourism and hospitality, majoring in event and leisure management, and a postgraduate degree in sustainable development management.

During her professional career, she also participated in the implementation of EU projects and further developed her skills in the areas of destination management and promotion.

Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Ivica Lukanović He thanked the previous director for her work and contribution to the development of the destination and wished the newly elected director a successful mandate.

The new director of the Kvarner Tourist Board thanked the prefect and the Tourist Council for the trust they have shown her and emphasized that this is not just a new position for her, but a great honor and responsibility.

"I am particularly pleased that my many years of work in tourism and the Matulja Tourist Board have been recognized, where I have lovingly developed projects to promote our cultural and historical heritage and created events that enrich the tourist offer and the life of our community. I come to this position with great respect, but also with sincere excitement. We have a lot of work ahead of us, a lot of challenges, but also a lot of opportunities, and I look forward to every new step. I would also like to thank the previous director for everything she has done for the development of tourism in Kvarner. Her work has laid a solid foundation on which we continue to build.

For me, Kvarner is not just a destination, it is a home, a space of emotion, identity and life. I believe in its strength, in its people and in everything that makes it special. Together with colleagues from local tourist boards, I want to further strengthen its recognition and value - for guests, but above all for us who live here.
