Kvarner hosts the 22nd "Golden Pens"

Croatian tourist agency is organizing the traditional award ceremony this year as well "Golden pen", which is awarded to recognized and well-known foreign editors, journalists, travel bloggers and influencers for the best media coverage of Croatia as a tourist destination in the previous year. The host of this year's "Golden Pen", which is being held in its 22nd edition, is the region Kvarner so the entire program was prepared with the support and cooperation Kvarner Tourist Board.

On this occasion, for numerous guests, including 23 foreign journalists from 14 markets, prepared a rich program of stay in Kvarner during the period from 14 to 17 April. The program includes a tour of the cultural and historical sights and attractions of Opatija and Rijeka, while special emphasis is placed on the island of Krk, where participants will learn about the wealth of indigenous products and tradition through tasting top-quality olive oils, local wines, prosciutto and cheeses. As the Kvarner region stands out in 2026 with the title of European Region of Gastronomy, participants will also be introduced to local cuisine and top-notch restaurants, which will confirm that Kastav is a historic town known for its blend of tradition and contemporary culinary interpretations.

The central event of this multi-day program, namely The "Golden Pen" award ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 16th in the beautiful surroundings of the Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort & Spa., where journalists will be presented with special awards, as well as Grand Prix awards for the best media releases.

The awards will be presented in five categories, namely for the best print media report, for the best online media report, for the best radio report or podcast, for the best television report, and for the best publication by a travel blogger or influencer.

The Croatian National Tourist Board has been organizing the "Golden Pen" award since 2005 with the aim of highlighting the value of a professional approach to writing about Croatia and its tourism, thus emphasizing the importance of media coverage in the promotion and visibility of Croatia as a tourist destination. This project also represents a kind of gratitude to editors, journalists, bloggers and influencers for presenting Croatia's beauties and tourist specialties to numerous readers, viewers, listeners and followers around the world.
