Pical Resort officially opened: An investment that sets new standards for Croatian tourism

Pical Resort 5*, Valamar Collection, the most significant project in the recent history of Croatian tourism, was officially opened in PorečWith this investment of 200 million euros Valamar is transforming the destination of Poreč, but also making a key step forward for the entire Croatian tourism towards high added value, a luxurious offer and year-round operations.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the state leadership led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Valamar shareholders and partners, leading representatives of local and regional self-government, and numerous dignitaries from business and social life, which further confirms the strategic importance of this project for the Republic of Croatia.

"The investment worth 200 million euros already speaks for itself how much you wanted to improve the offer of your hotel company, how much you wanted to raise the content and quality offered by Poreč and Valamar. I think it will be very worthwhile, and completing a project like this will certainly make all of you who lived this idea and realized it satisfied and proud. In this way, you are also strengthening the competitiveness of Croatia as a Mediterranean destination. I think you are a model and example for other hotel and tourist companies on how to position Croatian tourism. Thank you to all your associates and I wish you that this resort will be the pearl of Croatian tourism.", said the Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. 

"Today's opening of Pical Resort represents an important step forward in the further development of quality and sustainable tourism in our region. The fact that the largest tourism investment in Croatia was realized in Istria confirms the strength and recognition of our destination. We are particularly pleased that the project combines sustainability, green technologies and cooperation with domestic producers, which further raises the quality of the tourist offer and strengthens its competitiveness," the prefect said Boris Miletić and congratulated Valamar on the successful implementation of this significant project.

"In this place, which has held a special place in the hearts of generations of Poreč residents, today we opened a new page in the history of tourism in our city. Many of us are connected to Pical, which is why I am proud to say that it remains ours, an integral part of Poreč. Beaches, promenades, swimming pools and recreational facilities remain open to all citizens of Poreč, because this city is building its future together with its community. I would like to thank Valamar for the trust and courage to implement such a project in Poreč. I would like to thank my colleagues from the City who did a great deal of work in the preparation and implementation of the project. I would like to thank everyone who participated in the construction, and I would like to especially thank the people of Poreč for their patience during the construction, because today we can proudly say together that Poreč, the champion of Croatian tourism, has set the bar even higher.", said the mayor of Poreč Loris Peršurić.

"With the opening of Pical, we have successfully implemented our largest and most complex project to date - an investment that will change the tourist image of Poreč, Istria and Croatia in the long term. We are already achieving extremely positive results: the annual reservation plan has been filled by almost 80 percent, while guests who stayed at the hotel rated the quality of service with a high 95 percent satisfaction. This confirms that we have managed to deliver top-quality service in a very short time and that the market has recognized our vision of a modern Croatian holiday resort."", concluded the President of the Valamar Management Board, Željko Kukurin and thanked shareholders, partners and the local community for the support they have shown since the very beginning of this project.

After the grand opening of Pical Resort, the evening continued with the musical and stage program "Tribute to Parenzana", which Valamar presented to the citizens of the Istrian County. Accompanied by a symphony orchestra conducted by Alan Bjelinski and performances by Slovenian, Italian and Croatian music stars such as Josipa Lisac, Nina Badrić and Urban & 4, the program paid tribute to the rich history and cultural identity of Istria - values ​​that are deeply embedded in the architecture, facilities and concept of Pical.
