Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) was re-elected in Committee of Associate Members of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) for the mandate period 2026 – 2029.

This is news coming from Riyadh where the constituent session of the Committee of UN Tourism Associates was held today. This is a great success and significant recognition for the CNTB achieved in strong international competition. The CNTB achieved an exceptionally high number of votes, which confirmed its recognizable place among the leading institutions of world tourism.

"During the past term in the Committee of Associate Members, we have successfully proposed and implemented numerous initiatives and programs, among which the organization of the 2nd World Congress of Sports Tourism in 2023 in Zadar, which brought together around 400 participants from all over the world, stands out. In the previous period, we also actively participated in the work of the Working Group for Accessible Tourism and the Working Group on the Silk Road. The new mandate is extremely important for us because it allows us to continue the activities we have started and propose and implement new projects that contribute to the international recognition and sustainability of Croatian tourism. Also, entering a new term opens up additional opportunities for further active contribution to the work of the Committee, especially in the context of the preparation and implementation of the new two-year work program of the UN Tourism Associate Membership", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, who also attended the constituent session.
