57th Vinkovci Autumns - the story of tradition and heritage continues

The largest event that cherishes Croatian tradition, Vinkovci Autumn, will shine in full glory again after two years marked by the pandemic. The introductory programs have already been held, and traditionally, the event will open with performances by county cultural and artistic societies.

From September 9th to 18th, all lovers of tradition will be able to enjoy a rich program prepared by local and visiting cultural organizations from Croatia and abroad. For ten days, Vinkovci will become a showcase of Croatian tradition, which has been cherished in this region for more than half a century.

From Friday, September 9th to Wednesday, September 14th, around fifty cultural and artistic societies from the Vukovar-Srijem County will present themselves at the county folklore festival, i.e. Folklore evenings, which were officially opened last night.

"We like to boast these days that we are the capital of traditional culture, so from today, when we show what we have in our county at the Folklore Evenings, we certainly are. I hope we will enjoy these 10 days in Vinkovci", said the Mayor of Vinkovci, Ivan Bosančić.

The County Folklore Festival is an introduction to the National Festival, which will be held next weekend on the central stage of Vinkovci Autumn Festival. But before that, this weekend, Vinkovci Autumn Festival is traditionally dedicated to children. Around 2500 little guardians of tradition will perform in various programs throughout Vinkovci.

And this year too Opening ceremony Vinkovci Autumns will be watched by the whole of Croatia on small screens. On Friday, September 16th, the Main Stage will present a staged reenactment of the opening ceremony. "Ravnica, all in ears of golden wheat!" which is also the theme of this year's 57th Vinkovci Autumn Festival. The last two days of the traditional program, September 17th and 18th, are scheduled for State Festival of Original Croatian FolkloreThe highlight of the program is on Sunday, September 18th, when Festive parade with over 75 cultural and artistic societies and 30 teams.

For many years now, Vinkovci Autumns have not only been a traditional event. The accompanying program this fall will also include numerous interesting events. Lovers of local and indigenous things will once again find their place. An excellent story called Slavonian alley every year it attracts an increasing number of visitors and exhibitors, especially now that autochthonous and local products have become a global trend.

This year, Vinkovac autumns will also be offered two newspapersThe first is the Ferris wheel, an attraction that will surely delight both hosts and guests, because "Sky view" is ideal for all those who crave adrenaline and great heights. Bircuz is a new gathering place for lovers of the Šokac culture of living. Wines, brandies, liqueurs, water, natural juices, bread from the bread oven, lard and red peppers, sausage, cheeses... modeled after the old Šokac inns. There is also a live tamburitza soundscape. 

We must not forget those who come to Vinkovci for the first time or want to get to know the town and its stories better. It is for all of them Vinkovci Tourist Board provided free guided tours with a licensed guide.
